Who this applies to
This policy covers blindwarriors.org and is operated by Blind Warriors Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit registered in Florida (EIN 99-1594395).
What we collect
When you buy something
Checkout is handled by Shopify. We collect your name, shipping address, email, phone (if you give it), and order contents. Payment information is collected and processed by Shopify Payments or your chosen payment provider — we never see your full card number.
When you donate
Donations are processed by Stripe. We collect your name, email, and donation amount. Payment information is collected by Stripe directly; we never see your card details.
When you fill out a form
Contact, sponsorship, seminar booking, student-join, newsletter, and waitlist forms collect the information you provide. Emails are sent via Resend to our foundation inbox.
Browsing the site
We use minimal analytics to understand what pages people visit (no personal profiles built). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. The site is hosted on Vercel, which logs IP addresses for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To fulfill orders and ship products to you
- To process donations and issue tax-deductible receipts
- To reply to messages, inquiries, and student applications
- To send the newsletter, only if you signed up
- To improve the site (aggregate analytics only)
How we share it
We share information only with service providers we need to operate (Shopify, Stripe, Resend, Vercel). They're each bound by their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data, rent your data, or share it with advertisers.
We may disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order, etc.) — and we'll tell you if we can.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what data we have on you
- Correct anything wrong
- Delete your data (subject to legal record-keeping for donations)
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter (every email has a one-click unsubscribe)
Email uswith any request and we'll respond within 30 days.
Donation records
Donation records are retained as required by U.S. tax law (IRS recordkeeping requirements for 501(c)(3) organizations). Deletion requests for donor information will be honored to the extent we are legally able.
Security
We encrypt traffic to the site with HTTPS. Payment data is handled by PCI-DSS-compliant processors (Shopify, Stripe). We never store card numbers on our servers.
Children
We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Updates to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent change.
